Migration News: Increase in Temporary Skilled Migration Income Threshold (TSMIT) from 1 July 2024

From 1 July 2024 the TSMIT will increase from the current rate of $70,000 to $73,150.

This TSMIT increase affects the following visas:

  • Subclass 482 Temporary Skills Shortage (TSS) visa
  • Subclass 186 Employer Nomination Scheme visa – Direct Entry stream only
  • Subclass 494 Employer Sponsored Regional visa

Nomination applications lodged after 1 July 2024 will need to meet the new TSMIT of $73,150, or the annual market salary rate, whichever is higher.

Existing visa holders and nominations lodged before 1 July 2024 are not affected.
