Grafton Jacaranda Festival is a popular festival in Australia, celebrating the blooming purple Jacaranda trees in the region. It is held annually in Grafton NSW from the last weekend in October to the first weekend in November.
One of the most popular days during the festival is “Jacaranda Thursday” when the town is given the license to “let its hair down”. During this time, main streets are closed, local businesses dress up and people wander throughout the CBD. Aside from the Jacaranda trees, the other attractions to look forward to during the festival are art exhibitions, live music, markets, parades, hot air balloons and fireworks.
