When you apply for an Australian visa, the most important thing to remember about character issues is to disclose them.
Generally, unless you have been convicted to a term of 12 months in prison or have a criminal record made up of violence against a person, your criminal record may not affect your eligibility for an Australian visa. However, if you do not declare any record that you have, this will affect your eligibility and, at best, severely delay the processing of your visa application or, at worst, will result in a refusal and also a potential bar to applying for future visas for some time due to the fact that you provided false information on your visa application form.
