Up, up, and away!
The annual Canberra Balloon Spectacular is one of the highlight events at the Enlighten Festival which runs for nine days in March. It is popular to both locals and tourists from around the world. It is a unique experience that showcases the beauty of Canberra, the capital city of Australia. During this event, the colourful hot air balloons take off from Old Parliament House and fly over some of Canberra’s most iconic landmarks, such as Lake Burley Griffin and the National Arboretum. The festival is free but it is recommended that visitors should arrive early to secure a good viewing spot as balloons can take off quite quickly.
