Some exciting changes have recently been announced for any New Zealand citizen currently living in Australia.
From 1 July 2023, New Zealand citizens living in Australia will have a direct pathway to Australian citizenship! Any New Zealand citizen who holds a non-protected Special Category visa can apply for citizenship by conferral, without first becoming permanent residents, provided they have been living in Australia for four years or more and meet all other eligibility requirements.
